어린 왕자 원서 필사하기 - 73

At sunrise the sand is the color of honey.

 

And that honey color was making me happy, too.

 

What brought me, then this sense of grief?

 

"You must keep your promise." said the little prince, softly, as he sat down beside me once more.

 

"What promise?"

 

"You know - a muzzle for my sheep... I am responsible for this flower..."

 

I took my rough drafts of drawings out of pocket.

 

The little prince looked them over, and laughted as he said

 

"Your baobabs- they look a little like cabbages."

 

"Oh!"

 

I had been so proud of my baobabs!

 

"Your fox - his ears look a little like horns and they are too long."

 

And he laughed again.

 

"You are not fair, little prince." I said. 

 

"I don't know how to draw anything except boa constrictors from the outside and boa constictors from the inside."

 

"Oh, that will be all right." he said, "Children understand."

해가 뜰 때쯤이면 모래는 벌꿀색으로 변한다.

 

And that honey color was making me happy, too.

그리고 이 벌꿀색 역시 나를 행복하게 만들어준다.

 

What brought me, then this sense of grief?

그런데 무엇이 나를 슬프게 했단 말인가... (슬플 이유가 없는데 슬펐다고..)

"너 꼭 약속 지켜라" 어린 왕자가 말했다. 내옆에 한번 더 앉았다.

 

"What promise?"

"무슨 약속?

 

"You know - a muzzle for my sheep... I am responsible for this flower..."

"알잖아.. 양한테 입마개 씌어 주는거... 나는 이 꽃에 대한 책임이 있거든."

 

I took my rough drafts of drawings out of pocket.

나는 내 그림의 초안을 주머니에서 꺼냈다.

 

The little prince looked them over, and laughted as he said

어린왕자는 대충 보더니 웃으면서 말했다.

 

"Your baobabs- they look a little like cabbages."

"너의 바오밥나무는 양배추처럼 생겼다."

 

"Oh!"

"오!"

 

I had been so proud of my baobabs!

나는 바오밥나무에는 자신이 있었다.

"너의 여우는 귀는 뿔같고 너무 길어..."

 

And he laughed again.

"그리고 그는 다시 웃었다.

 

"You are not fair, little prince." I said. 

"너는 옳지 못해 어린왕자.." 내가 말햇다.

"나는 보아뱀을 속부분이나 겉부분을 그리는것 말고는 몰라."

 

"Oh, that will be all right." he said, "Children understand."

"오. 괜찮아... " 그가 말했다. "어린이들은 다 이해하거든."
